Apply to Ignatian Companions
Ignatian Companions welcomes adults who desire to deepen their spiritual life while accompanying the poor and marginalized in the colmmunities. The application period is April through mid-August each year.
Second Year “Hurtado” Ignatian Companions
If you have completed the 19th Annotation, the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life, or the Santa Clara University Ignatian Adventure program, you may apply for the second year “Hurtado” program.
Please complete and submit your application by August 15, 2026.

FEES
Program Fees
The yearly fee for First Year and Second Year
Companions is $500.
No one will be turned away due to financial hardship.
Scholarships are available to cover partial or full program costs.
The fee helps support:
Program workbooks and materials
Facilitator stipends
Retreat expenses
Meeting space costs
Administrative support
Third Year and Beyond Companions have a yearly fee of $300,
which helps cover retreats, meeting spaces, and administrative expenses.

Important Note: The cost of meeting monthly with a Spiritual Director is not included in program fees. Participants are encouraged to make separate arrangements with their Spiritual Director.
Meeting Locations
Ignatian Companions is offered in the South Bay and East Bay.
South Bay
The South Bay gathering of First Year Companions is usually held
monthly on the first Friday at the Mission Santa Clara de Asis. The
Second Year Companions and Xavier Companions meet monthly
on days agreed upon by each cohort, and at various homes in
Santa Clara and San Jose.
East Bay
The East Bay gatherings of Ignatian Companions are held
at the Jesuit School of Theology, 1735 LeRoy Avenue,
Berkeley, CA. Gatherings are in the mornings on the
second Saturday of the month and conclude with Mass.
